Abrams & Chronicle Books announces northern publisher
Carpet Bombing Culture as a new client
London (March 2017)
Ahead of London Book Fair internationally acclaimed independent distributor Abrams & Chronicle Books announced that Carpet Bombing Culture will be joining the list of publishers they distribute. Carpet Bombing Culture will be distributed by Abrams & Chronicle Books from June 2017 in the UK and all English-language markets, excluding North America.
Carpet Bombing Culture, founded by Publisher Gary Shove in 2008, are a counter-cultural publisher par excellence, publishing quality art and photography books littered with vitriolic and highly subjective commentary to aid readers in pursuing the guerrilla warfare that is 21st century everyday life.*
Highlights of their list include Banksy: You Are An Acceptable Level of Threat, Soviet Ghosts, Burn After Writing and the soon to be released Autopsy of America.
Gary Shove says “Carpet Bombing Culture are delighted to be represented as part of the Abrams & Chronicle Books stable of publishers and are looking forward to the positive working relationship to come.”
Brenda Marsh Managing Director commented
“We are thrilled to work with Gary Shove to spread Carpet Bombing Culture far and wide. The list is a great fit for A&CB and we are excited to have the opportunity to sell these beautiful books that beg to be picked up and talked about.”
In addition to the ABRAMS and Chronicle Books lists, Abrams & Chronicle Books also distributes other fine illustrated publishers such as Galison, Knock Knock, SelfMadeHero, Princeton Architectural Press, Smith Street Books and V&A titles across the UK and international markets. Carpet Bombing Culture now joins this prestigious list.
About Carpet Bombing Culture
Founded in 2008, Carpet Bombing Culture is an independent publisher based in the North East of England. They pride themselves on having a sharp eye for the zeitgeist and remain ever poised on the margins of the maelstrom ready to leap in and snap up a subject at a moment’s notice. For this reason, their books seem to be almost supernaturally relevant and because they don’t care a fig for the norms of the publishing industry, they get books out in half the time, with twice the quality and often at half the price.
However, make no mistake; these are not history books or dim-witted collections of mediocre fan snaps. These books are designed to ignite, provoke and inspire you. They are not for the dispassionate observer. Their raison d’être? To act as a catalyst, so that you too can get involved in something, to push things forward! Who knows? Maybe you will feature in the next title?
*We make books. You buy them. Your life is better.
